Director Liability Experts

Directors can be made personally liable for the debts of the company. The technical phrase is piercing the corporate veil.

A director can be made personally liable in various situations. We can help;

  • Creditors - for example homeowners, and suppliers and sub contractors pursue their builder or main contractor personally, if trading as a limited company, for any loss in the event the company which owes you money does not pay and goes into liquidation.
  • Directors - to avoid being made personally liable for the company's debts, including HMRC tax liability, for example corporation tax, and set aside a personal guarantee.
  • Director disqualification proceedings - we can help directors defend claims made against them personally which if proved will lead to them being disqualified from being able to act as directors in the future.
